The founder, Neil Montgomery, is a member of the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA), a member of the Cayman Islands Society of Professional Accountants and a member of the CFA Institute. He is a registered director with CIMA and has nine years experience in the Financial Services Industry. Before founding Zalu Consultancy Ltd in early 2017, Neil was part of the fiduciary services team of a reputable trust and corporate services provider in the Cayman Islands for almost 5 years. In this time, Neil specialised in the provision of fund fiduciary services to a diverse portfolio of institutional clients which comprises hedge and private equity funds, unit trusts, companies and special purpose vehicles. Neil also led the internal regulatory and compliance team with a specific focus on FATCA, UK CDOT, CRS and AIFMD. Earlier in his career, Neil worked in both the Cape Town and Cayman Islands offices of one of the big 4 audit firms with a focus on the provision of auditing services to financial institutions including, but not limited to investment holdings companies, unit trusts, medical schemes, mutual funds and hedge funds.
